Designed to enhance the ease-of-setup and deployment of Virtual Private Networks (VPN) with NETGEAR’s extensive line of VPN firewall solutions, the ProSafe VPN Client supports robust, standards-based encryption and authentication, providing today’s mobile workforce with easy-to-use, secure, remote access to corporate network resources.
Supporting NETGEAR VPN/Firewall routers, including the FVS318, FVL328, FVM318, and FWAG114, as well as many other IPSec-compliant VPN devices, the ProSafe VPN Client provides network security administrators with an end-to-end VPN solution that is simple to deploy, cost-effective, manageable and highly secure. NETGEAR’s ProSafe VPN Client utilizes standards-based VPN technology from SafeNet, a leading provider of network security solutions for securing virtual private and wide area networks. The ProSafe VPN Client also supports many IPSec-based devices from other manufacturers, providing for seamless network integration, and enables client-initiated VPNs from Microsoft® Windows® platforms.

Available in single-user (VPN01L) and five-user (VPN05L) licenses, NETGEAR’s ProSafe VPN Client supports robust, standards-based encryption and authentication including Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), Data Encryption Standard (DES), 3DES, MD-5, SHA-1, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Internet Key Exchange (IKE), and a wide variety of Smart Cards and certificate authorities.
Providing Network Address Translation (NAT) transversal support to enable VPN tunnel termination in NAT environments, the ProSafe VPN Client also supports multiple configuration options including split-tunneling, block-tunneling and central-tunneling.
The ProSafe VPN Client comes with automatic configuration files for NETGEAR ProSafe VPN/Firewall routers to minimize setup and support costs. Easy to use and manage, the ProSafe VPN Client allows users to configure security policies and manage certificates through a graphical user interface and allows network administrators to create and distribute customized installations for easy setup of end users.
Backed by a 90-day warranty with support offered through NETGEAR’s Premium Networking Support Service, NETGEAR’s VPN01L and VPN05L ProSafe VPN Client Software will be available in December 2003 via Value Added Resellers, direct marketers, and e-commerce sites, at a list price of $62 (one-user license) and $209 (five-user license).
